This is a community-mapped route on AllTrails — not part of Madeira's official PR (Percurso Recomendado) trail network managed by IFCN, the regional government's forests and nature-conservation authority. It therefore has no official open/closed status and no maintenance/signage guarantee. Check access and conditions locally before going.
| Difficulty | Moderate |

| Rating | 4.2★ from 127 hiker reviews on AllTrails |
| Area | Madeira Natural Park |
| Trailhead | Near Rabaçal (approx. 32.755, -17.134) |
The trail starts in the leisure area of Rabaçal, where there is a car park (less congested in the early morning). You follow an asphalt road until reaching Levada do Alecrim, which leads you through dense forest to several beautiful natural lakes — including the charming Lagoa Dona Beja. The route then continues along Levada do Paul, completing the loop back to Rabaçal.
It's a pleasant walk in permanent contact with nature, with small obstacles that are easy to get around. On rainy days, however, it becomes muddy and harder to walk without adequate equipment.
Part of this route overlaps with the official PR 6.2 "Levada do Alecrim", which is an IFCN-managed trail:
