The Eiras Viewpoint (Miradouro das Eiras) walk is a community-mapped route on AllTrails — not part of Madeira's official PR trail network managed by IFCN (the regional government's forests and nature-conservation authority), so it has no official open/closed status and no guaranteed maintenance or signage. Check access and conditions locally before going.

The route

The trail starts near Pico Redondo and follows levada paths through the Parque Florestal das Queimadas — an area of high scenic interest popular for trekking and leisure. The path takes you to the picturesque village of Queimadas, where you can take a break before continuing the long section between Queimadas and Iha, where the route ends at the Eiras Viewpoint itself. The return is via the same route.

Heads-up: At nearly 21 km and rated hard, this is a full-day hike — allow plenty of daylight and carry water and provisions.
