Here's what I found about the Pico Castelo trail(s) on Porto Santo — there are actually two related routes:
This is the official IFCN-recommended trail on Porto Santo. It's a lovely levada walk through forested terrain, passing points of historic interest.

Community route mapped on AllTrails — not part of Madeira's official PR trail network managed by IFCN (the regional government's forests & nature authority), so it has no official open/closed status and no maintenance/signage guarantee. Check access and conditions locally before going.
This is a longer, harder loop that starts at Moledo, next to the Regional Road. It offers two alternatives on the climb: the north side of Pico do Facho or the south side (the longest route on the island). At the base of the peak you cross the island's central area, where remains of the old agricultural terraces are still visible. A highlight is the climb to Pico do Castelo itself, named after a fort that once stood there.

Which one is right for you? The official PR 3 (Levada do Pico Castelo) is the moderate, shorter levada walk — great for a relaxed half-day. The community PR 2 loop is nearly 9 km, rated hard, and takes 3.5–4 hours — better if you're after a full-day challenge with panoramic summit views.
Would you like me to check the weather and IPMA warnings for Porto Santo on the day you're planning to hike, or look into how to get to Porto Santo by ferry?
